Apex Wrestling School Alumni Mike Trasso earned his 100th career win and the Pilgrim League Wrestler of the Week award. A senior for NCAA Div III Rhode Island College Trasso has been one of the most consistent wrestlers for the Anchormen. For the season Mike is 17-4 with and impressive 40 takedowns. As a Junior Mike finished fifth at the NEWA Championships and was named a Second Team Pilgrim League All-Star. He also earned that honor as a Sophomore and first team All-Star Honors as a Freshman.

In High School Mike wrestled for Scott Weaver at Queen of Peace High School and trained at Apex Wrestling School. While at Apex he earned All-League honors and won his district and region his senior year. A member of our travel team Mike consistantly provided the Apex team with great leadership both on the mat and off. Aside from wrestling Mike is also an experienced grappler studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Hapkido, Sambo and Kickboxing. Mike began studying BJJ at the age of 5 and is one of the top grapplers in the country having won over 50 tournaments including NAGA and Grapplers Quest events around the country. Trasso hopes to open his own school after college.
