Providence, R.I.-Senior Mike Trasso (Lyndhurst, NJ) was named the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Wrestler of the Week after his 2-0 performance at a tri-match hosted by Stevens Institute on Sunday, Nov. 6 to open the 2011-12 season.
Trasso earned a 15-1 major decision vs. Bridgewater State sophomore Matt Stott (Fall River, MA) to help the Anchormen secure a 36-14 win vs. their NEWA rivals. He went on to pick up an 11-6 decision over Stevens' sophomore CJ Caserta (Mt. Arlington, NJ) in RIC's, 22-15, loss to the Ducks.
